The Pookkattil Bhagavathy Temple is a revered family temple (Kudumbakshetra) dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi, nestled in the spiritual heart of Erumapetty, Thrissur District, Kerala. Steeped in tradition, the temple serves as a sacred space for daily worship and grand annual rituals, preserving centuries-old customs with unwavering devotion.

Established by our ancestor (Late Mr. PR NAMBIAR), built from 1948 to 1953, presently running under the Pookkattil Bhagavathy Trust from 2019 with approximate 50 family members, the temple ensures the continuity of daily Nitya Nidana Pooja and Trikala Pooja, along with special ceremonies like the Pambu Kavil Pooja (serpent worship) and Aayilyam Nakshatra Pooja during the Malayalam month of Kanni. Elaborate rituals such as Shudhi Kalasham, Udayasthamana Pooja, Ganapati Homam, and Prashad Oottu (ritual feasting) are conducted under the guidance of a traditional Tantri (priest), reinforcing the temple’s spiritual significance.
